HHP Law Firm (HHP) and Baker McKenzie Wong & Leow, the Singapore member firm of Baker McKenzie, has advised PT Manulife Aset Manajemen Indonesia (MAMI), part of the Manulife group, on its acquisition of PT Schroder Investment Management Indonesia (SIMI). The transaction combines two leading asset managers in Indonesia and forms part of a global strategic divestment by Schroders and a platform expansion by Manulife.
As detailed in Manulife's announcement, with the close of the transaction, MAMI’s established leadership and global investment insights will be complemented by Schroders Indonesia’s in-market investment expertise and longstanding intermediary and institutional relationships. The combined platform is expected to offer enhanced scale, deeper investment resources, and a broader suite of solutions across market cycles.
The team was led by Singapore-based M&A Principal Gerrit Jan Kleute, together with Jakarta-based M&A Partner Daniel Pardede, supported by senior associate Devina Andrasanti and associate Rahel Olivia Manurung.
